The short answer: Every York Professional Pet Sitting and Dog Walking (YPPS) dog walk is one-on-one, on leash and in your dog’s familiar neighbourhood. The route, pace and experience are shaped around your dog.

What Does One-on-One Dog Walking Mean?
One-on-one dog walking means the visit belongs to your dog. The route, pace, activity and amount of time spent sniffing or exploring do not have to suit the average needs of several dogs. They can be adapted to your dog’s age, health, energy, comfort and preferences.
Why Walk in the Dog’s Familiar Neighbourhood?
YPPS comes to your home, so there is no routine transportation to collect other dogs or reach a group-walk location. Your dog can begin and end the visit in familiar surroundings, and the scheduled time can be devoted to their care, companionship and activity.
Does My Dog Need a Group Walk for Socialization?
Socialization is broader than walking closely with unfamiliar dogs. Dogs can gain positive experience with people, sounds, surfaces, scents and everyday activity without being required to join a pack or greet every dog they see.
How Do I Know What Happened on the Walk?
After the visit, you receive a detailed report with photographs through the secure Time To Pet app. These updates do more than show that the visit occurred; they help you see how your dog was feeling, what they enjoyed and whether our team noticed anything you should know.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are all YPPS dog walks one-on-one?
Yes. Your dog is not added to a group or pack walk with dogs from other clients. The team member’s attention remains focused on your dog and their visit. Unless of course you have one or more dogs in your home that are used to walking together.
Where will YPPS walk my dog?
Walks take place on leash in your dog’s familiar neighbourhood. YPPS does not routinely transport dogs to another location or visit off-leash dog parks.
Can a one-on-one walk be adjusted for a puppy, senior or reactive dog?
Yes. The route, pace and approach can be adapted to the dog’s age, health, energy, comfort and known triggers. Suitability and safety are always considered for the individual dog.
Will my dog have the same dog walker every time?
YPPS aims for consistency and schedules familiar team members where practical. Because YPPS uses a team approach, another trained employee may provide care when the regular team member is unavailable, using the same current care information and routines.
Does one-on-one walking mean my dog misses socialization?
No. A dog can gain positive experience with sights, sounds, scents, people and everyday surroundings without being placed into a group walk or required to greet unfamiliar dogs.
